Matt Tracer grew up in Rapid City, South Dakota. He spent his high school years ski racing; and attended Olympic Valley School in Squaw Valley, CA and Glacier Creek Academy in Girdwood, Alaska. After a serious knee injury during his junior year of high school, he returned to Rapid City to graduate from Stevens Highs School in 1988.

Matt spent his first two years of college at Cal State Fullerton as a biology student. However, he didn't really like the commuter atmosphere of the campus and sought to transfer to a college with more of campus feeling. In 1990, Matt transferred to the University of Northern Colorado. He graduated with his degree Biology in 1993.

Matt felt that he needed to get in touch with his roots; so he moved to Breckenridge, Colorado and work a season as a front-desk clerk at the Breckenridge Hilton. Matt enjoyed the opportunities of this break and started focusing on the emerging online technologies.

Matt returned to UNC in 1995 and earned his graduate degree in educational technology. Matt partnered with one of his peers and started a Fort Collins company called UllTra Learning Center. There, Matt designed and delivered training for Internet technologies. In 1999, Matt continued to teach and started a web development company. He worked in the industry until 2003.

In 2003, Matt co-owned several pizza franchise businesses and sold them in 2007. During this time, he was active in the Colorado Restaurant Association serving on the Board of Directors.

In 2008, Matt earned his real estate license and started working for Sears Real Estate. He believes real estate was the right choice because of his passion for working with people and his deep interest in contracts and the real estate transaction.

Matt considers himself a Greeley-ite and watching Greeley grow between 1990 and 2009 has been amazing. He considers Greeley the shining jewel of northern Colorado with ample opportunity and great community.

Matt is currently an active member of the Greeley Rotary Club, a mentor in the Next Step program for UNC athletes, member of the Greeley Chamber Governmental Affairs Committee (LGBAC), member of the National Association of Realtors, member of the Colorado Association of Realtors, member of the Greeley Area Board of Realtors, and a member of the Greeley Area Chamber of Commerce.

Matt married Kelly in 2000 and has two kids (5 & 7).
